NO.33
Espresso Maker

Target Audience.
The NO.33 Espresso Maker is designed for coffee enthusiasts who enjoy brewing their own coffee during their leisure time. Compared to regular pour-over coffee, coffee brewed with a Moka pot has a richer aroma, which is difficult to replicate even with mechanical espresso machines.

Sketching Process.
During the sketching and ideation process, the renowned kitchenware and furniture brand Alessi will serve as a reference, inspiring a design with a strong metallic sheen and a minimalist yet groundbreaking structural form. The goal is to explore a wide range of shapes to identify potential improvements for the Moka pot.

Two Part Handle.
A common issue with Moka pots is that they become extremely hot and difficult to pour after brewing. Since the bottom chamber is no longer needed once the coffee is ready,
This design featured a two-part handle that allows users to twist and detach the upper half. This makes pouring easier, reduces weight, and minimizes the risk of burns.

Make coffee with a moka espresso maker.
A Moka coffee maker has a lower chamber for water and an upper chamber for brewed coffee.
When heated, steam pressure forces water through coffee grounds, extracting rich flavors and delivering strong, aromatic coffee.
Explode view.
Lid, light cover, nob, pivot, power button and a lamp bass.
The lid in front is to prevent light shoot straight to user's
eyes and cause damage.
And a semi-transparent light cover let the light shine through and adjust dimensions. The same goes for the hole in the bass, letting more indirect light shines through and gives the lamp more character.
